The Hythe Dementia Forum started on 20th August 2015 when the Hythe Town Council agreed that Hythe should set up a Dementia Aware Forum. The aim was and still is to encourage the people of Hythe to become aware of those living in the Community who have dementia and the needs of Carers looking after them.

The Forum initially met every few months to gather medical knowledge from the many bodies involved with dementia, we also visited some local Care Homes and other Cinque Port Towns to find out what positive help was available.
The Forum now meets regularly on the third Thursday of each month at 2pm at the Hythe Town Council Offices in Stade Street and anyone is welcome to attend those meetings.
The Forum is grateful for donations from Kent County Council, Shepway Council and Hythe Town Council with gifts from local businesses and charities based in Hythe along with smaller donations from individuals, clubs and Churches.
The Forum works closely with Age UK Hythe and Lyminge and the Hythe Library.
